Art is not living.
It is the use of living.

Open Mic Guidelines
- Open mic-ers have 4 minutes max.
- Sign up sheet opens at 4:30pm.
- Nine performers chosen through lottery system are guaranteed on the mic, with the rest on-call. We may randomize order of performers to improve the flow of the show.
- In order to promote a variety of artists, open mic-ers are asked to only perform at 3 consecutive shows.
Features
We curate two featured performing artists, food vendor, merch vendor, and a community spotlight at every event. In this curation process, we focus on uplifting artists who are people of color.
Accessibility
Wheelchair accessible. No stairs. Chairs are provided, and people are not expected to stand. Two bathrooms are gender neutral. ASL Interpreters are available upon request with three weeks notice. Open mic-ers strongly encouraged to provide copies of text for those hard of hearing and deaf. Amplified sound; volume is sporadically loud. Room is air-conditioned; wear layers if temperature sensitive. Use scent-free materials and be aware of fragrance sensitivity.

SPECIAL EVENTS
The following events are examples of the types of special events we do. As a community arts organization, we believe in the power of collaboration.
KATIPUNAN POETRY SLAM
Since 2014, Sunday Jump has organized the Katipunan Poetry Slam. For Filipinos, the modern day poetry slam is an echo of the balagtasan (a poetic, political debate). Continuing the work of those who have paved the way before us, from Jose Rizal to Jessica Hagedorn, the slam provides a platform for us to showcase the variety of voices and points of view among Filipinos and Filipino-Americans today. The lineup includes published authors and seasoned slam champions who are recognized locally and nationally.
